Straffan Cup - Bodenstown falter at the final hurdle
In the third match Fergus Egan and Michael Matson battled all the
way to the 17th, where Killeen sank a 30 foot downhill birdie putt
for victory.

The fourth match also went the distance and beyond as Derek
Devaney sank a crucial winning par put on the 18th to bring the
match down the 19th, only to be called in as they prepared to play
their approach shots to the green as word filtered through that the
final match was lost with overall victory going to Killeen.

Team Manager, Peadar Cunningham, and his team deserve great
credit for the quality of the golf played and the battling spirit shown
that kept the match alive for so long.

The team consisted of Pat McCarthy & Michael Healy, Michael
Ryan & Eddie Shanley, Fergus Egan & Michael Matson, Derek
Devaney & Garvan O'Keeffe, and Dan Cronin & Padraig O'Dea.
